This page includes three types of games. Games that are centered on a math skill and games that can be altered to practice a math skill.
Games that require a specific skill can be played to practice a skill in a fun setting. Here we list games that can develop specific math skills
Counting games
Arithmetic Games
- Arithmetic war- Use a deck of playing cards. Identify an operation to practice. (For example signed addition) Say red cards are negative black cards are positive. Each person turns up two cards, the person with the larger sum wins all 4 cards.
- Arithmetic Bingo Regular bingo cards can be issued, but instead of calling numbers you call expressions with the result the number called.
- 24 Gameis an arithmetical card game in which the objective is to find a way to manipulate four integers so that the end result is 24.

- Krypto is a mathematical game that promotes proficiency with basic arithmetic operations.

Games that can be modified to practice a math skill
- Bingo variations: Create a list of answers and have students create bingo boards of the answers. Call out equations or expressions and the student must simplify or solve to get the answer.
- Jeopardy: Act as individuals or teams and create 5 categories per round.
- Press your luck: This includes more random chance in the point values so players always have a chance to win.
